CHENNAI: The DMK on Tuesday asked its medical wing members to visit areas hit by dengue and H1N1 and help people suffering from these diseases.
In a statement, DMK president M K Stalin asked the wing to hold medical camps and treat people suffering from dengue and H1N1. He wanted the wing to create awareness among people about the importance of keeping the surroundings clean.
Stalin said people were suffering from dengue and H1N1 in different parts of Tamil Nadu and some patients died.
"In Chennai, 7-year-old twins died. Across the state, 13 people died due to dengue and H1N1. Several people have been admitted to hospitals. People are frightened," said Stalin.
He said the state government had failed to take any step to prevent the spread of these diseases. "Chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and other ministers are busy with other issues while people are suffering without any help from the government,” he said.
