An Indian National Congress (INC) party functionary was murdered on Dr. Natesan Road in Royapettah on Monday night.
Police sources said that A.K. Abbas, 35, was stabbed at 10.25 p.m. near a hospital in the area. He succumbed to his injuries and his body was taken to the Government Royapettah Hospital.
Police personnel from the Ice House police station, who are investigating the murder said that they were yet to establish motive or the number of persons involved and that they have begun investigations.
