Share market update: IT shares dip; Wipro, Tata Elxsi shares down 3%
NEW DELHI: IT shares were trading lower with the Nifty IT index trading 1.4 per cent down at 14,219.65 around 11:07 am on Tuesday.
Shares of Wipro (down 3.01 per cent), Tata Elxsi (down 2.61 per cent), NIIT Technologies (down 2.27 per cent) and Infosys (down 2.05 per cent) were the top losers in the IT pack.
Tata Consultancy Services (down 1.52 per cent), HCL Technologies (down 0.67 per cent) and Oracle Financial Services Software (down 0.30 per cent)too, appeared among top laggards.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 51.55 points at 10,193.7 while BSE Sensex was 126.86 points at 34,007.52 at that time.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 15 were trading in the green, while 35 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Bharti Infratel, SBI, ICICI Bank, Tata Motors, Bank of Baroda, RIL, BHEL and Indian Oil Corp were among the most traded shares on the National Stock Exchange.
