Kapil Sharma was all set to make a comeback this Diwali with the new season of The Kapil Sharma Show. Now, indianexpress.com has exclusive information that the show has been pushed towards the end of the year.
Shared a source with indianexpress.com, “The makers do not want to start the show in a haste. As of now, the final creatives haven’t been locked. There’s a lot of pending work regarding the cast and the format and it’s not possible to go on floors so soon. Even the set hasn’t been erected yet. Thus, the makers and Kapil have taken a mutual decision to push the show towards the end of the year.”
Kapil Sharma had taken to Twitter to make an official announcement about his comeback. He had posted, “Jalad wapas aa raha hoon ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ lekar aap ke liye sirf @SonyTV par.”
The channel had also issued an official statement that read, “Yes, Kapil Sharma is coming home to Sony Entertainment Television with his highly successful weekend comedy show ‘The Kapil Sharma show’. We are delighted and looking forward to again collaborate with Kapil and his absolutely talented creative team and actors.”
It was only on Monday that Kapil confirmed his wedding date with longtime girlfriend Ginni Chatrath. The actor-comedian will tie the knot on December 12 in Jalandhar followed by a reception on December 14. As per the source, Kapil’s show will only kickstart after his wedding.

The Kapil Sharma Show will be making a comeback after more than a year. In 2017, the show had to be wrapped up after Kapil had a fallout with his co-stars Sunil Grover and Ali Asgar. While he continued with the show for a few weeks, his ill health caused him to cancel many shoots. With Bollywood stars going home upset over his absence from shoots, Sony TV decided to give the show a break.
Earlier this year, Kapil made a comeback with Family Time with Kapil Sharma. The comedy game show, however, could not garner ratings and went off air after just three episodes.
