Jada Pinkett Smith has been married to Will Smith for over 20 years, but she hated their 1997 nuptials during which she was three months pregnant with their son Jaden.

'I just knew I never wanted to be married,' the 47-year-old mother-of-two revealed on Monday's Facebook Watch series, Red Table Talk.

'My first trimester was horrible. And I was so upset that I had to have a wedding. I was so p***ed. I went crying down the freaking aisle, I cried the whole way down the aisle.'

Jada added: 'I just never really agreed with the construct [of marriage]. I just don't agree with it. I still don't. Til death do us part is real for me, but all of the rules and all of the ideas. This title "wife," the accepted conventional definition of wife in the paradigm - I'm not that.'

The Girls Trip star made it clear she felt pressured into having a wedding by her 'crying' mother Adrienne Banfield-Norris - rather than the two of them exchanging vows on a mountain.

'I'm sorry that I didn't respect your wishes,' Adrienne apologized on the multi-generational show.

'It was totally a selfish. It was, "I'll never have that experience of my daughter getting married," because you were my only child. The wedding was horrible. Jada was sick, she was very unpleasant. She didn't cooperate with anything. She was having all that morning sickness.'

Jada also revealed that she once went on a date with the two-time Oscar nominee's Fresh Prince of Bel-Air co-star Alfonso Ribeiro, who took her for a ride on his motorcycle.

The 47-year-old actor - who played preppy Carlton Banks on the NBC sitcom - was inadvertently instrumental in setting Smith up with his first wife, Sheree Zampino.
