Indore: Five molestation and teasing cases in 24 hours


Five cases of molestation and sexual harassment were reported in last 24 hours in the city. Some of the accused were arrested.  The first incident took place in Khajrana on Saturday. The woman, a resident of Ujjain, lodged a complaint that she had come to meet his son in Khajrana when her minor daughter was abducted by a youth named Akhtar of South Toda. He took her to his rented accommodation in same colony and molested her.

The accused attempted rape on her but she cried for help. As a result, accused fled. The family members of girl reached there and took her to police station.  Khajrana police station in-charge Preetam Singh Thakur said a case under Sections 363, 366, 354 of IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act was registered on complaint of girl’s mother. The accused was arrested on Sunday. Further investigation is underway.

Two cases were reported at Banganga police station. Bholenath Colony resident Rohit Thakur was booked by police for allegedly molesting a married woman. Woman alleged that accused held her hand with bad intention and threatened her of dire consequences when she resisted the move.


A minor girl was also molested by Lalit of Mukharji Nagar on Saturday. Accused held her hand with bad intention and threatened her. The police are searching for the accused.  In another incident, a married woman was eve teased by a man in Kshipra area. The woman told police that she was on way when accused Inder Singh made obscene gesture and held her hand. The accused could not be arrested till filing the report.

In another incident, a woman was molested in Khudel area. Police booked accused Raju and started investigation. Victim in her complaint stated that she was returning home when Raju molested her. She cried for help after which accused fled.
