2019 Nissan Maxima Has a New Face, More Tech

The 2019 Nissan Maxima has received a revised front fascia and other small updates.

Nissan released a single image of the updated 2019 Maxima today, showing off the full-size sedan’s revised front end. While the image doesn’t show off the Maxima’s rear, it’s believed to have gotten a minor nip and tuck as well. The automaker will debut the vehicle in full at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show in late November before putting it on sale in December of this year.

The new Maxima will also offer “available Nissan Safety Shield 360 technology, a suite of six advanced safety and driver-assist technologies,” the automaker said. The 2018 Maxima already offers forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking standard across all trim levels.

As for the powertrain, we’re not expecting a major shakeup. The 2.5-liter four-cylinder and 3.5-liter V6 engines should stick around, while the CVT transmission is also likely to return. Some small revisions could be made to the CVT to boost fuel economy by a small margin, but Nissan has yet to confirm anything.

Look for the 2019 Nissan Maxima to debut when the 2018 Los Angeles Auto press days kick off on November 27th.
