The Chief Minister’s office said on Sunday that a video of Amruta Fadnavis, the wife of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, which shows her sitting on the edge of cruise ship Angriya to take a selfie, was shot from an angle that made it look like she was in a dangerous position.

It said precautions were taken while Ms. Fadnavis was sitting there, and there was no danger to her life.

The video on board luxury cruise Angriya, which started its maiden voyage from Mumbai to Goa on Saturday, went viral on social media. Ms. Fadnavis had accompanied the Chief Minister for the launch of the cruise service.

In the video, Ms. Fadnavis is seen sitting beyond the security railings of the ship. It shows a security guard and a police officer talking to Ms. Fadnavis, presumably requesting her to not sit on the edge.

Ms. Fadnavis did not respond to a message sent by The Hindu.
