Playback singer Vaikom Vijayalakshmi ties knot

Kottayam: Noted playback singer Vaikom Vijayalakshmi tied the knot here on Monday. The visually-impaired singer got married to Anoop, Pala native, at the Mahadeva Temple in Vaikom. Anoop is an interior decoration contractor as well as a mimicry artist.

Several prominent personalities from the film and music filed attended the marriage.


Yesudas along with wife Prabha and son Vijay, music directors M Jayachandran and Ouseppachan, senior CPI leader Pannian Raveendran were among those attended.


The marriage feast was arranged at Athurashramam hall near the singer’s home. Vijalakshmi rose to stardom after singing the hit song in director Kamal’s film Celluloid. She is the only daughter of V Muraleedharan and Vimala of Usha nivas in Udayanapuram in Vaikom.
