A joy ride on his new bike turned fatal for a 21-year-old radiologist after he lost control and crashed into the traffic island at Windsor Manor bridge on Saturday night.
The deceased has been identified as Sharan, who was working in a private hospital in Marathahalli and a native of Tamil Nadu. According to the police, Sharan was residing in Hebbal.
The accident occurred around 1.45 a.m. when Sharanwas heading towards Ballari Road. The police said he was overspeeding.
As Sharan and the pillion rider, identified as Livingston, were not wearing helmets, they sustained severe head injuries. While Sharan was brought dead, Livingston is recovering, the police said.
The vehicle was purchased a few days ago and had a temporary registration number.
