A hunt is underway for a man who attacked a 32-year-old woman after he posed as a property industry executive and forced his way inside her home.

The man knocked on the door of the woman's Eight Mile Plains home in Brisbane's south east at 4 pm on Saturday.

The man shoved the woman's head into a table and a mirror after she told him her house was not up for sale, according to police.

'[The victim] received some injuries to her head which will need some hospital treatment and he has demanded some property from her,' Queensland Police spokesman Steve Flori told 9 News.

The woman is suffering from facial cuts and items on her table were destroyed, according to police.
