Hanergy introduces its cutting-edge BIPV product in the Middle East market

As a part of its global launch, Hanergy Thin Film Power Group introduced its innovate BIPV product, HanWall in the Middle East market. Going beyond simple installation of rooftop solar panels and making power generation capacity as an integral part of the fabric of a building, HanWall-- the world’s first integrated solar powered wall solution-- is Hanergy’s newest development in the building-integrated PV segment.

Equipped with CIGS solar cell technology, every 1000 sq m of HanWall is incorporated in the south facade of a building in Beijing and can generate 326 kW of electricity per day, equaling to a reduced usage of 48 tonne of coal. Not only this but it can resist a grade-12 typhoon and can adapt to temperatures from 40 degree Celsius to more than 85 degree Celsius. It also comes in four different colours and various sizes, allowing the designers to utilise the creative ability to build new eco landmarks.

A cooperation contract was signed between Minjian Hu, Chief Executive Officer, Hanergy-UAE and Tariq Said Humaid Al-Mamari, Director, General Logistic. As a part of the contract, Hanergy will be appointing authority in PV product design consultant and business partner for the latter. Also, a thin-film solar product including HanWall in Oman Chinatown’s commercial project will be provided by Hanergy, where these two parties will build the project as Oman’s Green New Landmark.

“The solar energy industry in the Middle Eastern region has experienced a strong growth in the last four years. Countries in this region have announced ambitious renewable energy production goals to help decarbonise their economies and manage the growing electricity demand. We’re certain that HanWall’s introduction in the region will be instrumental in the Middle East countries’ perpetual efforts to meet this burgeoning demand of electricity,” added Minjian Hu, Chief Executive Officer, Hanergy-UAE.
