TAKE ME OUT
★★★
7.30pm, Seven
Joel Creasey has taken to his role as cheeky Cupid like the proverbial duck. Riffing off his 30 flirty ladies, he never misses a beat, deftly inserting borderline R-rated gags like a wicked fairy prince. His irresistible warmth makes the whole silly charade feel like a party to which we've all been invited. Even the poor chap who fails to get a date tonight leaves with a smile.
CARDINAL
Double episode ★★★★
11.30pm, SBS
For a TV detective duo, John Cardinal (Billy Campbell) and Lise Delorme (Karine Vanasse) get along pretty well. Despite their requisite personal problems, they seem focused on the job of busting a biker drug ring in the fictional Canadian city of Algonquin Bay. This second season inspired by Giles Blunt's novels is another deliciously dark and tangly spine-chiller, played out against strangely ominous pine interiors and the foreboding Canadian forest.
SUPERWOG
★★½
9.30pm, ABC
That apparently timeless Australian comedy premise – intellectually stunted men of Mediterranean extraction plot fatally flawed self-improvement schemes – is faithfully recreated by YouTubers Theo and Nathan Saidden. Young enough to find heart attacks funny, they work an elongated sketch around one inflicted on the star dumbo's dad by his woeful school report. Nathan plays both parts. Theo drags up as a glamorous "wog" mum.
