A taxi crashed into the front of a coffee shop on Sunday after mounting a kerb while trying to make a U-turn.

The vehicle also took out some small trees when it made the disastrous sharp turn in Werribee, south west of Melbourne.

Shattered glass and wood can be seen on the pavement outside of the store.

The taxi was successfully pulled out from the building shortly afterwards.   

In 7 News footage, destroyed tables and chairs can be seen inside the shop. 

Video of the damage received diverse reactions on Facebook, with many users taking a jab at the driver.

'Lol and they wonder why we use Uber,' someone commented. 

'Just popped in for a coffee,' another Facebook user joked.
