PATNA: Mathematician of Super 30 fame Anand Kumar exhorted the Indian community in the USA and across the world to make education accessible to the masses in their motherland.
“Education is changing fast as the requirements are changing. This calls for new approach to education,” he said while addressing the golden jubilee function of ‘Indian for collective action’ organized in San Jose, California on Saturday.
“In India, there is a huge craving for education, but quality education is not accessible to all. Today, technology can make it happen through online classes,” he said.
Quoting noted scientist Albert Einstein, Anand said: “Indians have been doing wonders in different fields across the globe and it will be immensely satisfying for them to give something back to their society to make a difference to the lives of future generation.”
Anand said the power of education was immense to bring about generational change for the deprived lot. “Through my small endeavour, I have experienced it how the smile of success on the face of first generation learner brings cheers not only to the entire family, but triggers hope for the entire community,” he said.
He said there was no dearth of talent in India, but equal opportunities in terms of quality education and modern day requirements often eluded a large number of students. “Today, there are opportunities to fill this void through technology. You people can make it happen through small contributions in your own way to make a big difference,” he added.
