A 26-year-old e-rickshaw driver was allegedly shot dead over a petty dispute by his neighbour in North east Delhi welcome area on Wednesday night. Police said that the accused is absconding at the moment while efforts are being made to nab him.
According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Manmohan(26) who resided along with his family in the same locality.
“The incident took place at around 8 pm after a quarrel between deceased and his neighbours over old personal rivalry. The argument turned heated and ugly when the accused whipped out a pistol and shot at Manmohan. A police control room call was made by a passerby and a team was rushed to the spot,” said Atul Kumar Thakur, Deputy Commissioner of Police (North east).
The victim was taken to hospital where he was declared brought dead on arrival. Police have handed over the body to the family after autopsy. A case of murder has been registered at PS Welcome.
