Amritsar tragedy: People couldn’t hear sound of approaching train due to bursting crackers, says MoS Railways Sinha

Minister of State (MoS) in the Ministry of Railways Manoj Sinha termed Amritsar train tragedy as unfortunate incident. He also informed that he is immediately leaving for the site of the dreadful accident. “Medical teams are rushing to the spot. I am also leaving for the site of the accident. As per initial information, people present near the railway track couldn't hear the sound of the approaching train due bursting crackers,” said Sinha. Over 50 people dead and around 50 others injured when a passenger train ran over people watching Dussehra celebrations near Jhoda Phatak in Amritsar.
