A 21-year-old youth was stabbed to death, while his friend was attacked by three men over a trivial row at Yeshwantpur on Friday. The police have arrested three persons on the charge of murder.
The victim has been identified as Jagdeep Singh, a resident of Mathikere.
According to the police, on Thursday night, after finishing dinner, Suhas and Jagdeep and one of their female friends were on their way back home when the accused approached them and asked for a cigarette. When Suhas and Jagdeep said they did not have any, the three allegedly picked a fight and assaulted them with beer bottles. In the melee, one of the arrested took a knife and slit Jagdeep’s throat.
Both Suhas and Jagdeep were rushed to a private hospital, where Jagdeep succumbed to his injuries. Suhas is said to be out of danger.
