Five students’ organisations have sought the revocation of the suspension of S. Malathi, first year M.A. History student of the Government Arts College.
The college administration had suspended her recently on the charges of indiscipline and attempting to spoil the peaceful atmosphere on the campus.
Campus Front of India, All India Students Federation, Revolutionary Students Front, Students India and Students Uprising Movement for Social Welfare in a resolution passed on Saturday condemned the suspension, saying forming an organisation or protesting for their rights or indulging in political activity was their basic right.
The college administration should revoke the suspension order as the students like Ms. Malathi had every right to express their opinion as given under Article 19 of the Constitution. It also condemned the administration for giving a copy of the suspension order to the Race Course Police. They also wanted amenities improved in college and hostel.
