Surat: Four persons were booked at Pandesara police station for murdering a 25-year-old man on Friday night. The accused and the deceased have criminal background, police said.

Police booked Manoj alias Manoj Maliya and Riyadalai along with two unidentified persons for the murder. Surjapnachu Shetty, a resident of Punit Nagar in Pandesara, lodged the complaint after his son Shambhu was stabbed to death by the accused. Shetty alleged in his complaint that the accused used to demand Rs40,000 from him for doing business in Pandesara. Shetty refused to pay them money and so the accused threatened him and arrived with sword at his office one day. Meanwhile, Shambhu came to know about the threats being issued to his father and so went to discuss the issue with the accused but was stabbed to death. “The accused and the deceased have criminal background,” the police said. tnn
