Trio kills man as he objects to harassment of women friends

BENGALURU: A 21-year-old who took objection to three youths harassing his women friends, was murdered by the trio in Yeshwantpur on Thursday night. The attackers were arrested.


Chittibabu alias Dorai, 20, Praveen G, 19, and Kishore M, 20, all lathe workers at Shanmukha Industries in Mathikere, were arrested.


The incident occurred around midnight when the victim, Jagadeep Singh from Uttarakhand, along with his friend Suhas, 22, from Udupi and two women friends, were on their way to a hotel for dinner.


They were stopped by the trio, who started passing vulgar comments on the two women. An argument broke out and, in the melee, one of them pulled out a knife and slit Singh in the throat. They also smashed a beer bottle on Suhas’ head before escaping.
