AMBALA: The girls have shown their full strength and they have overpowered the boys in large number to will top seats of President in 13 colleges in the district. The boys have been able to win only two seats for the post of President only in SA Jain College and Maharana Pratap College, Mullana and in all the other colleges the girls have won the post.
The main reason behind victory of girls is the 75 per cent attendance criteria of the state government, as they are always ahead of boys in comparison to the attendance in the classes. On the other side, where there were no candidates for the post of Class Representative, the selection was to be made on the basis of merit, and the girls were again ahead than boys.
In the top four posts, one post was reserved for the female candidate, and there are five Girls College in Ambala. The number of girls in most of the colleges is higher than the boys.
After winning the elections, the girls have disclosed their agendas on which they will be working to improve the standard of education and facilities in the district colleges.
