Man arrested, cops solve 4 thefts and 5 snatchings

AMBALA: Five days back, the crime branch II team of the district police had arrested an accused identified as Jitender Singh alias Sarpanch, a resident of village Mokha Majra in the district.



He was accused in number of snatching and theft cases. The arrested accused was presented before the court which had sent him to four-day police remand.


On Thursday, the crime branch II team has recovered 3 stolen activa and a motorcycle from locations told by Jitender. The police have also managed to solve 5 cases of snatching which the accused had committed on stolen twowheelers.


Ambala deputy superintendent of police (DSP), Baljeet Singh said, “The accused is married and is a resident of village Mokha Majra and belongs to a well-settled family. The accused is drug-addict who used to do smack (heroin) and to fulfill his need of drugs he started committing the crime.”


“He has been a proclaimed offender and was wanted in two cases under Section 307 of the Indian Penal Code registered at Panjokhra and Baldev Nagar police station. He was arrested from CCTV footages by the crime branch II team lead by inspector Ravi Kumar,” Baljit Singh added.


The accused has been sent to judicial custody as per the court orders.
