THANJAVUR: DMK president MK Stalin launched a scathing attack on the chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami for continuing with his post despite facing a CBI probe into the corruption in awarding road contracts, here on Friday.

“CBI investigation was not ordered against any other sitting chief minister in Tamil Nadu. There is no other shame to Tamil Nadu than this (probe). Despite facing this contempt, he is continuing with his post,” said Stalin at a marriage function in Thanjavur today.

Stalin was referring to the order of the Madras high court transferring the case filed by the DMK over the alleged corruption to CBI recently. DMK alleged that CM EPS who holds highways portfolio awarded road contracts for Rs 3200 crore to his relative violating the tender norms.

“Holding that it would be appropriate for CBI to probe the allegation, the high court ordered for it. We need not produce any other evidence to the corruption,” said Stalin recalling the cases filed by AIADMK against DMK for allegedly indulging in corruption in nine bridges in Chennai when he was mayor and the dismissal of the cases for lack of evidence.

Stalin termed the AIADMK led by its chief minister EPS a circus. “ EPS is running ADMK as a circus and the ringmaster for the circus is in Delhi. I am not referring to the prime minister. Usually, ringmaster is called Modi Masthan,” he said.
