Rajkot: Police form six teams to nab parcel bomb sender

RAJKOT: Rajkot police has so far interrogated 25 suspects in a case of a parcel bomb sent to the owner of a private school on Uptleta-Porbandar road 85 km far from Rajkot city. According to police the courier was sent from Amreli to Upleta but still police couldn’t find the sender.


Rajkot rural Superintendent of Police Balram Meena said, "It’s a personal motive, there is nothing like organized crime but whoever has sent this bomb is having proper knowledge of making bomb." According to sources, police has zeroed down the person who sent the bomb but the accused will be arrested after gathering enough evidence.


The bomb was powerful enough to bring down a two-storey building. The bomb was sent as a gift pack to Vallabh Dobaria who runs Krishna Shaikshanik school in Upleta town. The letter inside the parcel instructed to open the gift pack in the precence of family members. Dobria opened the parcel on Tuesday evening only to find bomb inside. There were eight gelatin sticks, nine detonators, a battery, a wire and a switch in the bomb.


Police have formed six teams to investigate the case, police suspect the role of a courier man in this case.
