High alert sounded as Siang water in Arunachal may rise any moment

GUWAHATI: Downstream districts of Siang river, a major tributary of Brahmaputra, in Arunachal Pradesh have been put on high alert. Indian Embassy in Beijing informed New Delhi that the water of Yarlung Zangbo at the Milin section in Tibet where a landslide occurred on October 16, was over flowing at a speed of 18,000 cubic meter per second on Friday.
Eight companies of NDRF will be airlifted from Bhubaneswar on Saturday for deploying at vulnerable Tuting, Yingkiong, Pangin and Pasighat areas in the state on Saturday.
