English football legend David Beckham is often portrayed as the strong, silent type.

But Lisa Wilkinson, who's interview with the 43-year-old will air on The Sunday Project on Sunday, has revealed what David is really like.

In an Instagram post on Friday, Lisa revealed that the husband of Victoria Beckham, 44, is 'charming'.

'David Beckham rarely gives sit-down interviews, but last week, ahead of his arrival in Australia for the #InvictusGames, I sat down with David in London for his only Aussie TV interview,' the 58-year-old captioned the photograph of David.

'Charming? You bet. And completely candid about so many areas of his life I thought might be off limits.'

In a preview for the interview on The Sunday Project, the father-of-four said things become 'little more complicated' when two people have been married for a long time.

'Charming? You bet': The 58-year-old revealed she interviewed David in London before he flew to Australia to fufill his role as an ambassador for the Invictus Games

'When you've been married for the amount of time that we have, it's always hard work,' David said in the teaser trailer. 'It becomes a little more complicated.'

David and Spice Girl member Victoria, 44, tied the knot in 1999.

The couple, who began dating in early 1997, share four children - Brooklyn, 19, Romeo, 16, Cruz, 13, and seven year-old Harper.
