Dussehra celebrated with traditional fervour in Raj

Colourful effigies of along with the demon king's son and brother were set on fire across on Friday as the people celebrated the symbolic triumph of good over evil on the occasion of Dussehra.

Also known as Vijay Dashmi, the festival marked the culmination of navratri during which, Ramlila was enacted to depict the life of Lord in different parts of the city.

The effigies of different sizes were set ablaze amid chants of 'Ram' as the spectacular fireworks lit up the sky.

Dusshehra fairs were organised at several places in the city including Adarsh nagar, Mansarover, Vidhyadhar Nagar, Malvia Nagar among others. Dressed in their festive best, people visited the fairs in large numbers.

The Rastriya Swamsevak Sangh (RSS) also conducted 'Shastra Puja' and took out a march at seven places in the city.
