Ashish Pandey sent to 1-day police remand

A court on Thursday sent Ashish Pandey, son of former (BSP) (MP) to one-day police remand, in connection with the hotel brawl case.

While arguing in the court, the asserted that a 4-day remand was needed by the police as Ashish was to be taken to for recovering his pistol.

Arguing in opposition to the remand application, Ashish's said that while his client is ready to cooperate and deposit the pistol, the hype created by the to his father's political stature has become a cause of concern for him.

"This matter is politically motivated," Ashish's stated in the court.

Ashish had earlier claimed that he did not brandish his gun in premises of and carried it for safety purposes.

"I took the gun with me for safety. I didn't brandish it. It was hanging behind me all the time. I didn't even address that girl; she pushed me and made obscene hand gestures," he said.
