UP Police to recruit around one lakh constables by 2019

LUCKNOW: 56,808 constables, to be recruited by the police by the third week of the June 2019 in various wings of the police including jail and firemen.
The process of their induction will commence from November 1 this year. By next year approx. one lakh constables will be inducted in the largest police force of the country. Earlier this year, process for induction of 41,250 is underway.
Uttar Pradesh DGP OP Singh said that 51, 216 constables will be in the police, 3668 as jail warders, and 1924 will be inducted as Firemen its advertisement for the application will commence from November 5.
He also said that there is shortage of around 42 percent constables. The exams will be held in January. "We will induct approx. 97,000 constables till June-July 2019," Singh told mediaperons.
Principal Secretary (Home) Arvind Kumar told mediapersons that the recruitment will only have written test no interview. It will be outsourced to a private agency for conducting of the written examination.
