WASHINGTON--Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that Saudi Arabia understands the “serious nature” of the disappearance and suspected killing of a dissident Saudi journalist this month and has vowed to conduct a “complete and thorough” investigation of the matter.

Mr. Pompeo said on Thursday he advised President Trump to give Saudi Arabia “a few more days” to complete its probe into what happened to Jamal Khashoggi.
