Three passengers were killed and five others suffered injuries in a road accident, which occurred on East Coast road near Sayalkudi under the limits of Keelaselvanur police station, in Ramathapuram district, on Wednesday.

Madurai: The accident occurred at 5.30 am, when the car in which they were travelling, collided head on with a TNSTC bus, which was proceeding from Ramanathapuram to Thoothukudi. Sources said that the car driver might have fallen asleep and lost control of the vehicle, which collided with the bus. The injured have been admitted to Ramanathapuram GH.
