PUNE: The Deccan Gymkhana police have established from CCTV footage the involvement of a white BMW car in a hit-and-run case that killed a 28-year-old newspaper vendor on Shirole road near Fergusson College in the early hours of September 29.

The vendor, Rohit Ravindra Kangane, lived on the Fergusson College campus. He was going on his motorcycle to pick up newspapers around 6.30am when the car knocked him down and sped away. The accident occurred at a place where one of the bylanes emerges on Shirole Road. It could not be established immediately whether Kangane was moving in or out of the bylane when the car hit his motorcycle, police said.
