NEW DELHI: After evading police for four days, Ashish Pandey was due to surrender before Delhi's Patiala House court on Thursday.

Pandey was seen brandishing a gun and threatening a couple outside a five-star hotel in Delhi on October 14.



'Pistol' Pandey's licences for three guns suspended

The UP government on Wednesday suspended three gun licences issued to former BSP MP Rakesh Pandey's son Ashish whose video showing him pointing a pistol at a couple outside Hyatt Regency hotel in Delhi led to national outrage. Ashish is still absconding four days after the incident.


Ashish is son of former BSP MP Rakesh Pandey.


In a video statement prior to surrender on Thursday, Pandey claimed that he has been wrongly framed and has been subjected to the media trial.




The plea says that, "The applicant is voluntarily ready to submit before the honouable court in the above stated FIR and necessary direction to be passed in this regard."

An FIR was lodged against Ashish Pandey at Delhi's RK Puram police station under Arms Act after a video of him brandishing a pistol and threatening a couple outside Delhi's Hyatt hotel on October 14 went viral.
