Wanted in MP, robber held in Kashi

VARANASI: The crime branch and Lohta police, on Wednesday, arrested a key member of a drug and rob gang from in Hardayalpur area of the city.
As per police reports, the miscreant was identified as Ramdayal Mishra alias Aman Mishra of Bhorkala in Mirzamurad. Mishra was wanted by the Madhya Pradesh police after he escaped police custody several months back. The MP police had also announced a cash reward on Mishra's head.

Producing him before reporters, SSP (Varanasi) Anand Kulkarni said that the police received a tip-off and Lohta police cordoned off Hardayalpur area and then nabbed


Police also recovered a motorcycle, 15 mobile phones and a country-made revolver.


During interrogation, Mishra told the police that he and his uncle Rakesh Dubey used to rob passengers travelling in buses and trains.


Police said the two used to get friendly with the passengers while travelling in buses or trains and then used to drug them. After robbing them, they used to flee. Mishra told the police that he had committed such crimes in Varanasi, Ghazipur, Allahabad, Chandauli, Bhadohi, Katni, Raipur, Nagpur and many other cities of different states.
