Indore : Ratlam Jewellers, which came on the Income-Tax radar during demonetization two years ago, has again come under the lens of the tax authorities. During the survey, the tax authorities have found some new evidence of “playing with” banned currency notes. I-T officers of the Chief Commissioner of Indore Region had initiated the survey action against three city jewellers on Tuesday afternoon. These are Zaveri Jewellers, Kumath Jewellers and Ratlam Jewellers. The action ended on Wednesday, wherein Kumath Jewellers surrendered Rs 1.05 crore and Zaveri Jewellers Rs 10 lakh due to the excess stock. But nothing came out from Ratlam Jewellers as during the survey, the I-T officers found some new documents which gave leads about exchanging the “currency notes” in a large chunk during demonetization. Incriminating documents seized from Madhuri Refiners
The I-T officers have started making notes of the seize documents from Madhuri Refiners Pvt. Ltd. The survey action against the company began on October 10 at 2 locations i.e. a plant close to MR-10 toll booth and an office at Race Course Road. Though, the action concluded on October 11, surrender of the amount of tax evasion could not be made as the officers had received some incriminating documents during the survey, which indicate a higher amount of tax evasion. The officers have started scrutinizing the documents.

The I-T officers started survey action against two nursing homes and confectioners in Khandwa on Wednesday. These are Prakash Super Speciality Hospital and Soni Hospital; Maya Nutri Foods Pvt. Ltd. and Maya Group’s 2 entities-DK Foods and DK Sales. The action is likely to conclude on Thursday.
