KANPUR: Farrukhabad police on Tuesday booked two persons for raping the wife of their friend after offering them 'kachauris' laced with sedatives. The Mau Darwaza police has registered an FIR against one Shahid and Javed, both natives of Jaipur, on survivor's complaint.
The accused, who are zardozi artisans, had visited their friend's place under Mau Darwaza police station of the district on late Monday evening.
The incident, however, came to light after their neighbours on hearing the couple's children crying, rushed to their house to take note of the situation. The neighbours immediately apprised Dial 100 police team. Later, on regaining consciousness, the couple narrated the incident to the police and later lodged an FIR at Mau Darwaza police station in this regard.
The woman alleged that not only the accused raped her, but also looted jewellery worth Rs 1.5 lakh and Rs 22,000 in cash and fled. She said in her complaint that her husband's two friends - Shahid and Javed - had arrived to their house from Jaipur on late Monday evening. After that, her husband asked them to make a stay in their house instead of taking room on rent in hotel. She said they all had dinner together. "It was while during dinner, Shahid and Javed offered them 'kachauris'. As soon as we consumed 'kachauris', we were knocked out of our senses," she stated in her complaint.
"The accused then allegedly raped their friend's wife. Thereafter, the accused escaped with jewellery worth Rs 1.5 lakh and Rs 22,000," said CO (City) Ram Lakhan Saroj.
He added they have registered an FIR under various sections, including 376D (gangrape) of IPC against the accused and sent the woman to district hospital for medical examination. Further investigations are underway in this regard. The police have launched a manhunt to arrest the accused.
