Temporary traffic diversions will be applicable in the city on Friday from 5.30 a.m. to 9 a.m. in view of the Ramalinga Sowdambigai Amman Temple festival procession on Raja Street.
The procession starts from Ramachandra Road-Sir Shanmugam Road Junction at 5.30 a.m., and vehicles heading to Poomarket from Sukrawarpet have to take D.B. Road and Cowley Brown Road to reach Mettupalayam Road and further proceed to destinations.
Vehicles heading to Poomarket from Mettupalayam Road should pass via Shanmuga Theatre Road and Brooke Bond Road to further proceed to other places when the procession reaches Ramachandra Road.
As the procession reaches Sukrawarpet, vehicles plying towards Sukrawarpet from Old Flyover have to take a left turn at Marakkadai Junction to reach Town Hall, Vysial Street, Sullivan Street and Gandhi Park.
Vehicles coming from Perur Selvapuram towards Chetti Street and Raja Street should take Sivalaya Junction and a right turn at Selvapuram High School Road to reach Ukkadam Bypass, Sungam and West Club Road to reach their destinations. All vehicles plying from Ukkadam to Oppanakkara Street have to take Sungam Bypass to reach Classic Tower Junction for proceeding to other destinations.
Light motor vehicles can take a diversion from the Y junction on Sungam bypass to reach Big Bazaar Street via Vincent Road.
Second procession
Traffic diversions will also be effective between 6.30 a.m. and 10 a.m. on the same day in view of a similar procession from Raja Annamalai Road near Saibaba Colony to Ramalinga Sowdeswari Puthu Gowdamman Kovil at R.G. Street.
When the procession reaches Alagesan Road, vehicles from NSR Road and ARC Junction to North Coimbatore should take Sivananda Colony Road.
As the procession reaches R.G. Street, vehicles plying towards Poomarket from Sukrawarpet have to take D.B. Road to reach Mettupalayam Road.
