Young writer O.P. Suresh has won this year’s Cherukad Award for his anthology of poems titled Taj Mahal.

The award is named after Malayalam playwright, poet, novelist, and political activist Cherukad Govinda Pisharodi.

Education Minister C. Ravindranath will give away the award comprising ₹25,000 and a citation at a function to be held at Thripunithura on October 27.

The Taj Mahal anthology comprises 35 poems published between 2015 and 2018.

Hailing from Cheekode in Malappuram, Mr. Suresh has such notable anthologies as Pala Kalangalil Oru Poovu, Verutheyirikkuvin, and Ekakikalude Aalkkoottam to his credit.
