Cricket South Africa's new T20 league the Mzansi Super League (MSL) will conduct it's first draft on Wednesday. 342 players are vying for one of the 96 spots in the tournament’s six franchises.
The Mzansi Super League, announced the names of the six franchises for its inaugural season.
The "American sports-styled" player draft will be held on Wednesday (October 17).
The South African marquee players are Faf du Plessis, AB de Villiers, Hashim Amla, JP Duminy, Kagiso Rabada and Imran Tahir whereas the international marquee players include Eoin Morgan, Jason Roy and Dawid Malan (all from England), Chris Gayle and Dwayne Bravo (West Indies) and Rashid Khan (Afghanistan).
MSL T20 Teams
The team are Cape Town Blitz (PPC Newlands), Durban Heat (Kingsmead), Jozi Stars (Bidvest Wanderers), Nelson Mandela Bay Giants (St George's Park), Paarl Rocks (Eurolux Boland Park) and Tshwane Spartans (Supersport Park Centurion).
They will be competing across 32 matches from November 16 to December 16 later this year.
The SA and international marquee picks
While AB de Villiers has been assigned to Tshwane Spartans, Faf du Plessis is with Paarl Rocks. Hasim Amla has been assigned to Durban Heat, K Rabada for the Jozi Stars, Imarn Tahir for the Nelson Mandela Bay Giants and JP Duminy for the Cape Town Blitz.
Durban Heat made the first pick in international marquee player and selected Rashid Khan. Jozi Stars picked up Chris Gayle. Paarl Rocks picked Dwyane Bravo as their international marquee player while Cape Town Blitz got Dawid Malan. The Nelson Mandela Bay Giants picked Jason Roy while shwane Spartans take Eoin Morgan.

Teams formation
Each of the six squads of 16 will include an international and a South African marquee player - all 12 of them assigned‚ not bid for - three CSA contracted players‚ either three or four overseas players‚ and at least one rookie - who is defined as a “South African cricketer who is 21 years or younger and who has not previously played international cricket for SA and is eligible to play for the South African national team”.
