SURAT: Many people participating in the funeral procession of the three-year-old minor girl on Tuesday shouted death for suspect, who is alleged to have raped and murdered her in the city two days ago.
Many people held banners condemning the horrendous incident and accompanied the minor girl’s family, relatives, neighbours and community members in the funeral procession from Limbayat to Godadara. Tight police bandobast had been made for the funeral procession and also to avert any clash between communities belonging to the girl and the suspect, a police officer said.
The suspect is believed to have fled to his hometown in Bihar. The deceased’s family is also migrant but from a different state.
“We all are in a deep shock. We demand immediate arrest of the accused and strictest punishment for him,” said uncle of the three-year-old girl.
