MUMBAI: BMC will construct jetties near Amarsons Garden at Breach Candy and Worli Seaface for mobilization of resources for the coastal road. Work on the coastal road is expected to start next month.
Officials stated that all material and machines that come to the city for the work will be transported by sea to ensure they do not add to the traffic problem here.

Municipal commissioner Ajoy Mehta, along with officials, held a meeting with coastal road contractors to discuss mobilization of resources and their requirements.

BMC has started handing over its land to contractors temporarily for the coastal road casting yard. Contractors have started to arrange and deploy manpower for the work and started to set up site offices. BMC allocated its land vacated after the abolition of octroi at Navi Mumbai to the contractors.

BMC has appointed contractors to construct the 10km coastal road connecting Princess Street in Marine Lines to the Worli-end of Bandra-Worli Sea Link.

The state government will construct another part of the road, connecting the Bandra-end of BWSL to Versova.
