Footage has emerged of the moment a double murderer was caught on camera in an elaborate police sting.

The video shows Debbie Guise in a motel room in Blackall, Queensland, with her stepfather Rodney Cherry.

It's 2001 and Debbie has just been released from prison where she was serving a sentence for murdering her own mother.

But the murder was actually orchestrated by Cherry, who gave Debbie a loaded gun and told her to shoot Annette Cherry.

The video shows the Debbie trying to illicit a confession from her stepfather.

Cherry was later found guilty of forcing Guise to shoot her mother as well as murdering Guise’s younger sister Kira.

‘Do you know what it’s like to actually have had to pull that trigger and do it?’ Guise asks.

‘I tell you what Debbie, I didn’t make you do it,’ Cherry responds.

‘You told me too!’ she hits back.

The conversation then moves on to Kira who Debbie says she hasn’t heard from, despite her recent 21st birthday.

Cherry retaliates, saying that they don’t know she’s dead.

‘Have you heard from her?’ Debbie asks.

‘No mate, I haven’t heard jack s*** from her mate, I’m worried that she’s in trouble or she’s got herself bloody hurt or some f***ing thing.’

Cherry is on his feet at this point, and heading towards Debbie who is sitting on the bed.

He then puts a hand on Debbie’s head and armed police burst through the door and arrest Cherry.

A year after this video in 2002, Cherry was convicted of both murders.

During the court hearing, it was revealed that Cherry had been having sexual relationships with both Debbie and Kira.

After an hour of discussion, Cherry moves towards Debbie and puts his hand on her head - the signal police need. They storm the apartment and arrest him

Debbie was originally imprisoned for her mother’s murder in 1998 after she provided false information during two Supreme Court trials.

However, she later pleaded guilty to two counts of perjury, saying that it was in fact Cherry who had provided her with the loaded gun and forced her to shoot her mother.

Cherry is now nearly due for parole but he will not be released until he reveals where Kira's body is, thanks to Queensland’s ‘no body, no parole’ law.

‘It’s about giving families and surviving victims of homicide some sort of resolution,’ Detective Senior Sergeant Chris Knight from the Homicide Investigation Unit told 7News.
