Bhopal: Amit Shah hold talks with RSS leaders at Samidha

Upper castes stir: BJP to play Hindu card through RSS

Bhopal: BJP national president Amit Shah reached Samidha, the office of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Monday morning and held meeting with RSS leaders. RSS functionaries Arun Jain and Deepak Vispute, BJP national organizational general secretary Ramlal and BJP state president Rakesh Singh were present in the meeting.

Wary of losing upper caste votes, BJP is all set to play the Hindu card through sangh. According to sources, Shah and others discussed the impact of agitation by upper caste following the amendment in the SC-ST Atrocity Act and its implications in the upcoming polls.
Shah is said to have asked the RSS leaders to remove confusion in the society on the issue through creating public awareness. RSS would conduct ‘Toli Baithak’ in the areas to stop division of Hindus. It was also discussed in the meeting to activate people with RSS ideology across the state.

RSS leaders will become active in SC-ST dominated areas and outreach people. Jain would be looking after the work of coordination to be done by RSS volunteers from election point of view across the state. In the previous elections, RSS had employed ‘Mohalla Baithak’ to develop conducive environment for the BJP. A campaign with the same approach, is being launched this time too.  It was also decided in the meeting that the issue of National Citizenship Register (NRC) will be strongly raised across the country by the party. People in the state would be made aware on this issue.

Do whatever necessary to win elections
Shah made senior BJP leaders clear to do whatever is necessary to win elections. Stating that they have to win elections, Shah asked party leaders to take whatever decision they wanted but the poll results should be conducive. He asked the leaders who have been assigned poll-related work to help party workers to understand the Election Commission’s instructions. He asked them to remain vigilant and lodge complaint against Congress when required. They were also asked to pay attention on the reply to be given in the Election Commission about the complaints made against the BJP.
