PATNA: In what could be music to the ears of pandal hoppers, the Patna Meteorological Centre on Tuesday ruled out chances of showers in the city over the next three days.

However, revellers have been suggested to carry light woollens if venturing out for pandal hopping in late night hours as the night temperature readings have plunged below 20 degrees C in the city. The nip in the air is also being felt in the morning and evening hours.

The minimum or early morning temperature at Patna on Tuesday was recorded at 18.5 degrees C, three notches lower than normal. At 16.3 degrees C, the lowest minimum temperature in state on Tuesday was recorded at Gaya.

“Moist easterly winds prevailing during the monsoon season are now getting replaced with dry westerly winds. As a result, there is a gradual dip in maximum as well minimum temperatures. Accordingly, the maximum temperature in the city between October 17 (Mahaashtami) and October 19 (Dussehra) is likely to be around 33 degrees C. Minimum temperature during the same period is expected to be around 20 degrees C,” an official at Patna Meteorological Centre said.

“The temperature after 10pm will be below 22 degrees C, which may drop further to around 20 degrees C by early morning. People might feel slight cold between 10pm and 6am,” an official at Patna Meteorological Centre said.
