PATNA: Deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi on Tuesday said the state government would consider the demand of the Bhojpuri film industry to give subsidy on expenditure incurred by a film producer during the outdoor and indoor shootings of Bhojpuri films in the state.
Modi gave this assurance to Bhojpuri film star Ravi Kishan, who called on him at his residence. Kishan informed Modi that Jharkhand government has been giving 30% subsidy and the UP government 40% on production expenditure to Bhojpuri film producers.
Modi said the NDA government was committed to promoting film production and entertainment in the state. “The government gave tax exemptions for three years to investors who spent Rs 1 crore on establishing multiplexes in the state. It also identified 20 acres of land near Rajgir in Nalanda district for establishing a film city,” Modi added. He sought to know from Kishan about the possible sites for indoor and outdoor shootings of Bhojpuri films in the state.
Kishan said places like Valmikinagar, Rajgir, Pawapuri and Patna were ideal for location shootings in the state.
