Feeling bloated??

Swapping to these simple food and beverage can help you reduce the bloating, naturally.
Add: Zing to your meals with salt-free seasoning/herbs like oregano, thyme, basil, mint, rosemary, lime or lemon juice
Omit: Salt, salt-based seasonings, chilli powder, hot sauces, tomato sauce, Worchester sauce, barbeque sauce and highly processed foods
Why?: Excess salt leads to water retention, puffiness and feeling lethargic. Consumption of spicy food can stimulate the release of stomach acid, leading to acidity.

Add: min 8-10 glasses of water daily, make water alkaline by adding either lemon, mint or a slice of cucumber.
Omit: Carbonated drinks, diet sodas, tea, coffee, energy drinks, alcohol, hot chocolate, acidic fruit juices.
Why?: Carbonated drinks cause bloating, may lead to irritable GI tract & since they are just empty calories, your belly becomes the unlucky host.

Add: A variety of fresh fruits & vegetables. Cook your vegetables by steaming or sautéing. Add dried fruits in your diet like almonds, walnuts, raisins & dried plums or apricot. But skip the salt or sugar
Omit: Raw vegetables, gas-producing vegetables like cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts. Canned or processed foods
Why?: Vegetables which are gas- formers irritate GI tract, excess consumption of salt sugar, canned & processed food will further cause bloating and water retention.

Add: Feed your sweet tooth with fruits, dried apricots, yoghurt with honey, fruit smoothies, organic jaggery.
Omit: Refined sugar, high-fructose corn syrup, sugar alcohols which are typically found in candies, sodas, frozen junk foods, desserts and low calories foods.
Why?: GI tract can absorb simple sugars and sugar alcohols which causes acidity, bloating and could lead to other lifestyle-related disorders.

Add: Some salt- free and unflavored crunchy nuts or seeds like pumpkin seeds, chia seeds, flaxseeds, melon & sunflower seeds
Omit: all types of chewing gum
Why?: While chewing, gum, one takes in the air causing bloating and belly expansion.
