A day after the demolition of Money Centre building meant for healthcare purposes by Indore Municipal Corporation, shopkeepers who lost their business were up in arms against Mayor Malini Gaud on Monday. Along with launching a campaign against Mayor on social media, the residents also decided to knock the Supreme Court’s door.
“We want to thank Mayor Malini Gaud for the bread of shopkeepers of her own constituency. Court had ordered Indore Development Authority to take possession of the building but the IMC’s decision to demolish it has bewildered us,” Sunil Garg said. Similarly, another shopkeeper Dr Ankit said, “Now, we can’t do anything but fight for our rights in the court. The court is our only hope,” he added. Another shopkeeper Ankit Maheshwari said they will raise the issue in social media and expose “corrupt” officials of IMC and IDA.
