
Lenovo K9, Lenovo A5 Price in India, Specifications, and Features Launch highlights: Lenovo will launch Lenovo K9, alongside the A5 at an event being held in New Delhi. The launch event begins at 4pm IST. Out of the two, Lenovo K9 will be a premium device. The Chinese company has been promoting Lenovo K9 as a ‘killer’ device, which is expected to sport a full screen display, slim bezels and rounded edges. The phone will be launched as a Flipkart exclusive, as Lenovo appears to have entered a partnership with the e-commerce major for the phone. On the other hand, not much is known of the Lenovo A5, though it could be expected at a mid-range pricing.
The full launch details, as well as sale dates and introductory offers, will be revealed by Lenovo as it launches the phones. Lenovo A5, is a budget smartphone. It sports a 5.45-inch HD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The device is powered by the MediaTek MT6739 octa-core processor and comes with either 2GB or 3GB RAM and 1 or 32GB of storage option. Like the K9, the A5 does support a microSD card slot for memory expansion. All of this is backed by a 4,000mAh non-removable battery. The handset sports a 16MP camera on the back and an 8MP sensor on the front.
As a quick recap, Lenovo K9 has been launched as a mid-range smartphone. Featuring a 5.72-inch HD+ Max Vision display, it comes with a screen resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels, and a screen aspect ratio of 18:9. Powered by the MediaTek Helio P22 processor paired with Imagination’s PowerVR GE8320 GPU. The device comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage which can be further expanded through microSD support. The phone is backed by a 3,000mAh battery and runs on Android 8.1 Oreo.
Lenovo K9 has a dual rear camera setup, that offers a 13MP primary sensor as well as a 5MP secondary sensor. On the front, it features a 13MP primary sensor along with a secondary 5MP sensor.
Chang also took the launch event as an opportunity to shed light on the strategy of the company regarding its smartphone brands. With an aim to be a leader in the Indian smartphone market, Lenovo reorganised its smartphone division, that had not launched products since late 2016. He also explained that both Lenovo and Motorola would launch devices in India, as the company aims to make a comeback.
Also, the Chinese OEM has set its sights on Xiaomi and Huawei as competitors, and prepares to introduce new products in the next three years. It is likely to continue partnering with Flipkart for future launches. With this, Chang also claims that Lenovo will attempt to bring new technology to the Indian market first.
Lenovo K9 will be available in a 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage variant, which has been priced in India at Rs 8,999. Meanwhile, Lenovo A5 will feature two storage options: 2GB RAM/16GB internal memory, as well as 3GB RAM/32GB internal memory. Both variants of the phone have been priced at Rs 5,999 and Rs 6,999 respectively. Both phones have been labelled as Flipkart exclusives, and are already available for pre-registrations.

Chang now announces that Lenovo has brought its first quad camera phone, with the Lenovo K9, that will enter the Indian market first. As part fo the phone, he claims that bring rear camera technology will also be brought to the phone's front lenses. Through this phone, users will be able to experience modes like AI Bokeh effect and AI Backlight improvement. The AI Bokeh mode consists of a light spot algorithm, that also takes care of multi-distance objects.
Lenovo vice president Edward Chang takes the stage, and gives an introduction into the company's 2018 product portfolio. Chang adds that Lenovo had launched its first wave of smartphone products in June, while another round of products were unveiled in Beijing. Also, the Lenovo vice president has confirmed that today's event will see the global launch of Lenovo K9.
Lenovo has set the stage for the Lenovo K9 launch in India. The company has promoted the phone as Killer 2.0, given that it will launch a K series phone after quite a while.
