It’s crafted by 3 GJB 17, a company that specializes in crafting furniture and decorative items out of car parts. And from looking at the photos below, it looks like they did a heck of a job on this one, too.
It’s made largely of American walnut, which looks to have been rather skillfully carpented. And it has a couple of drawers for stashing your car keys and such. But what sets it apart (and brings it to our attention) are the body panels from a 911, finished in Arctic Silver, that adorn its top. The engine lid even lifts to open up the writing space (or room for your Porsche Design laptop), and closes to keep the room looking tidy.
It’s the third example in a limited series to have been produced. And if you’re intrigued, it’s coming up for auction – at no less fitting a location than the Porsche Experience Center in Atlanta, where RM Sotheby’s will hold a sale later this month, entirely dedicated to the marque on the occasion of its 70th anniversary.
It’ll cost you, though: the auctioneer estimates it will bring in a good $20-30k. Which wouldn’t be enough to put you in a new Porsche, but could net you, say, a VW Golf GTI. So this is more for the Porschephile who already has a full garage than it would be for someone who aspires to owning one.
